Zebra Trailers at 4 Zinc Street in Windhoek’s Prosperita industrial area is your one-stop trailer shop.
There you will find everything to do with trailers, from ready-to-buy to the top-of-the-line, and also the option to have their in-house experts help design and build your own.
For the ultra-enthusiast, Zebra Trailers now also makes and sells do-it-yourself kits so that you can do the welding at home and gain the bragging rights to say you made it yourself.
According to chief executive officer Carel Schoeman, clients of Zebra Trailers have the benefit of 19 years of experience at their disposal.
Not to say that Zebra Trailers are stuck in the past. On the contrary, these consummate professionals are on the cutting edge of trailer design and manufacture, a testament to which is the incredible array of top-notch equipment at their disposal.
That is why Zebra Trailers is busy taking Namibian know-how to neighbouring South Africa and is even looking at expanding to Australia.

Everything you need
The retail section at Zebra Trailers is fully stocked with all manner of parts, rims, tyres and components – basically everything you might need to ensure your trailer is ship-shape and, most importantly, always roadworthy.
Loose parts, brake assemblies, axels and lights, couplers and coupler heads are all available on demand.
Zebra Trailers also supplies various outlets nationwide, including Pupkewitz, Agra, Cymot, Diesel Electric and Kaap Agri.
At their premises, they are happy to service your wheel bearings, fix your lights, repair your bumps and scrapes, and do top-quality tyre fittings.
Even more exciting is the sheer ingenuity with which Zebra Trailers' craftsmen can make your trailer dreams come true. Under direction from Basson Jordaan, head of operations at Zebra Trailers, the artisans in the laser cutting room will see that you get the best of local manufacturing.

As you wish
With their laser machine, their bending machines and their guillotines at the ready, they do steelwork, tube cutting and bed cutting of anything between 0.8 mm to 16 mm thickness. The 6 m tube cutting machine and the full 3 m CNC bending machine can handle up to 6 mm mild steel without anyone breaking a sweat.
A fibre-laser welding machine and a TIG welder are always ready for use, while Zebra Trailers can also offer laser engraving of the highest quality for anything from permanent logos to custom medals for competitive events.
However, the pride of workmanship at Zebra Trailers is definitely to be seen in the incredible custom trailers that they build. According to Schoeman, some of the most challenging jobs they have completed include a boardroom on wheels, complete with toilet and bathroom in the back, cupboards and a built-in television powered by solar panels, for a client from Zambia. Local banks have also come to Zebra Trailers for ATM trailers, and a house-on-wheels is child’s play for these experts.

Dreams come true
In terms of their expansion across the southern border, Schoeman said Zebra Trailers has collaborated with Centurion Profile Cutting to help develop its certification for manufacturer status at the Namibian ministry of works and transport.
Schoeman says plans to export to Australia are coming together, with expectations that exports will start shipping in three to five years.
Local trailer enthusiasts don’t need to wait that long at all. Get out to Zebra Trailers and see your trailer dreams come true.
