Capturing the spirit of Valentine's Day

Tristan Cox
The day started cheerfully, and love was floating in the air; it was peaceful. Except for the preparation, which was an organised disaster. Balloons were flying around as they were filled with helium, but the teachers still kept it organised. As the day went on, sales were booming. Boxes of cookies here, boxes of cupcakes there; the grade 11 students had an entire workout, running up and down for sales. As the boxes became empty, our hearts became full – not just because we were succeeding but also because it meant we could take a break. Later, the 'hype' started to disappear; however, speed dating came along and brought the morale all the way back up. It was a great success!
