IGYBMS: Keeping the Namibian girl child in school

In a move to help girls from impoverished communities stay in school, the ‘I Got Your Back My Sisters’ (IGYBMS) project last week donated sanitary pads to Oshinamumwe Combined School in the Oshikoto Region.
“This is our last donation for the year. Our next one will be in February at Penehupifo Combined School in the Ohangwena Region,” Tim Martins, IGYBMS founder, said.
He added that they are helping countless young girls who continue to miss classes every month because they cannot afford sanitary pads. After Penehupifo, they will look at schools in the Kavango East, Kunene and Otjozondupa regions.
He indicated that they have thus far gained support from the Namdia Foundation, Gwashamba Mall in Ondangwa, Outsiders Perfumes, Eagle Radio FM, Ricco Design Investment, J2 Balance Investment, 4G Namibia and Dpapas Mini Markets.
“This project is for the whole nation. We are calling on all individuals and companies to come on board to support our Namibian girl child. Let us help keep them in school.”
