In a remarkable display of determination and talent, Amy Andrew, a 16-year-old, grade 11 learner from Pionier Senior Secondary School in Schlip, has taken the world of mathematics by storm. With no prior programming experience, she spent months teaching herself to create a groundbreaking mobile application called 'Math Pro.' This young prodigy is poised to change the game when it comes to mathematics education in her small village and beyond.
Amy, a Schlip native, has always had a passion for mathematics. Growing up in a village with limited opportunities, she decided to take matters into her own hands. With relentless dedication, she embarked on a journey to develop an educational tool that would help students improve their math skills and ultimately increase the passing rate in mathematics.
“As Amy's mother, I can't express how proud I am of my little girl for accomplishing what appeared impossible. My mommy heart swelled with joy, and my greatest hope is that she achieves all of her objectives” Amy's mother, Petra Andrew, said.
The Math Pro app, created entirely by Amy, promises to be a game-changer in the world of math education. Although details about the app's features are yet to be disclosed, its potential impact on learners learning experiences is generating excitement among educators and learners alike.
In addition to her innovative app development, Amy also made headlines by participating in the National Mathematics Olympiad, where she secured an impressive third place. Her outstanding performance on a national stage is a testament to her exceptional mathematical prowess.

Proud community
Schlip, a small village with limited resources, is bursting with pride over Amy's achievements. Her story serves as an inspiring example of what can be accomplished through determination and a passion for education, regardless of one's background.
“Amy Andrew is a tenacious, conscientious, hardworking, goal-oriented individual. She is every teacher's ideal learner. Her dedication and determination to succeed are amazing. If you ask me, she's a bit of a perfectionist, but I guess that's what I like most about her. She doesn't require motivation or encouragement because she emanates it naturally. She is absolutely flawless in all she does. Her self-discipline and respect for her teachers and peers, which are so uncommon these days, are the icing on the cake. Amy Andrew's name will be known to many people in the future because of her achievements," said the school principal, M. Angermund.
Amy Andrew's journey is far from over. She has plans to publish her Math Pro app later this year, provided she secures the necessary sponsorships to bring her vision to life. With her dedication, talent and innovative approach to math education, Amy is on track to make a lasting impact on the world of mathematics and inspire countless learners to excel in mathematics. Schlip eagerly awaits the release of Math Pro and the positive change it is poised to bring to mathematics education.
