Noordgrens welcomes new principal
As Noordgrens Secondary School enters a new era of leadership with the appointment of a new principal, the school community extended their gratitude to their former principal for their dedication and the strong foundation they built. The school recently welcomed Daniel Likuwa as the new principal, who is set to bring fresh perspectives to continue the legacy of his predecessors.
Likuwa, with over 15 years of experience in education, including roles as a teacher, head of department and acting principal, brings a deep understanding of school dynamics. He emphasises a democratic leadership approach, valuing teamwork and collaboration in decision-making.
“I believe in teamwork because it ensures everyone’s involvement,” he said, adding with a smile: “After all, we live in a democratic country.”
When asked why he chose Noordgrens, Likuwa highlighted the school’s inclusive environment and diverse culture. “Working in such a setting offers a great opportunity to learn from others, and I’ve already started learning a lot,” he said.
Action-orientated
Under his leadership, changes are already visible. The school has undergone a facelift, and Likuwa has introduced a 60% performance agreement for both parents and learners to boost academic results.
He expressed gratitude to the education ministry for the funds provided but hopes for more resources to further enhance the school’s infrastructure and academic offerings. His plans include expanding facilities for technical subjects and building classrooms for AS level students.
As Likuwa embarks on this new chapter, he invites the entire school community to join him in building on Noordgrens’ legacy, aiming to produce not just professionals but citizens of great ethics and values.
