The 2023 Gobabis Open Chess Tournament is one of seven lined up for July by the Namibian Chess Federation.
The Namibian Chess Federation (NCF) held a one-day tournament on 1 July leading to the crowning of the Gobabis champion and boosting local chess development in Gobabis.NCF donated several complete chess sets to allow the Omaheke regional library to become the central chess venue. "The tournament is one of the seven tournaments lined up for the month of July," said Goodwill Khoa, the NCF president.
"Many thanks to the Omaheke regional library for supporting the development of chess through the usage of their facilities on a Saturday."
