The My Zone team took to the streets to ask the youth what their thoughts are about a four-day work week.

Lana Cilliers
I don’t think it’s such a good idea; companies might use this as an excuse to lower wages for only working four days and more work has to be done in less time, so this can possibly lead to increased stress.
Ryno Lombard
I think four work days will be nice. It will give people more time to rest and avoid burnout. Although, I hope the day off falls on a Monday so that I can still look forward to Friday.
Nathan Damens
I think it is a good thing for people to actually have that time, because you have a lot to do during the week and while you are working, you have to do a lot of stuff in between. The extra day will help a lot.
Surisa Pieters
I feel like this is a bad idea. People already do not work full-time with five work days; I really don’t think they will work harder with only four days. I also don’t think this could ever work for schools since it would be nearly impossible to finish the syllabus in only four days.
Matilda Ibegbulem
This seems like a good idea to me. It will give people more free time that they can use to rest and spend with their families.
Monika Sam
I am not entirely sure. Of course it would be nice, but I intend to work as a nurse, and I don’t think this will affect me. Some professions, like those in healthcare, simply cannot afford to take an extra day off.
