The second Women in Business Conference takes place in Swakopmund this week.

Organised by the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Swakopmund in partnership with Bank Windhoek, Old Mutual and Air Namibia, the conference gives women a platform to forge critical connections in the business community to help their businesses thrive.

“Women's empowerment is not a women only issue, but an issue for all of us,” says NCCI Swakopmund's branch and marketing manager, Paulina Mbango. “It is a fact that empowerment of women improves economic and social development of a society, therefore the NCCI invites women in all industries to join us for this special event.”

Investment

The event is a valuable investment for any women entrepreneurs in the early stages of their business or women who have established businesses and are looking to take them to the next level.

Topics include business start-up financing, funding and investments, the legal side of business, marketing for SMEs and business survival strategies for the current economy.

“This platform empowers delegates to learn and share their experiences, especially regarding the current challenges facing them in our economy, says Bank Windhoek's Jacquiline Pack. “Women are a powerful force in the economy and a smart choice for businesses to invest in.”

Speakers

Speakers include Ujama Mushimba (founder of Good Women, Good Business Start-Up fund), Estelle Tjipuka (owner of Kauai franchise) and Afra Shimming-Chase (financial wealth management expert) amongst other experts in the financial, legal and media industries.

The event takes place at the Swakopmund Entertainment Centre on Thursday.
