Shaping Namibia’s tech landscape

2024 ICT Summit
Kehad Snydewel
The 8th annual ICT Summit takes in Windhoek from 9 to 11 September 2024; as always, it is a highly anticipated event.
As Green Enterprise Solutions (Green), we have always supported the summit; this edition is no exception. This year’s theme is ‘Building Resilience to Adapt or Die in the Era of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)’, which is of great interest as it is all anyone is talking about now.
It is a theme that will interest professionals and stakeholders in the ICT sector and beyond, as Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere, yet there are still a lot of unknowns around the topic.
Will AI be an opportunity or a threat for businesses and jobs, or will it enable organisations to grow if leveraged correctly?
AI is one of many technologies on the agenda. The summit will see engagements on other technology themes and longer-form discussions with experts from Namibia, Southern Africa and beyond. It will be a real opportunity to lift the veil on all things ICT and innovation.
Namibia is rapidly developing as a new frontier in the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors. These projects are all technology-driven, and Namibia is determined to deliver the latest information technology solutions and support. This means having systems and networks that are highly secure and impenetrable.
Our country cannot be the focus of cyber-attacks, as this will be detrimental to our potential for growth. Cyber-security will, therefore, be high on the agenda at this summit. Our partner, Kaspersky, one of the leading international cybersecurity companies, will be giving a virtual presentation during the summit.
Green, as a key player in the ICT industry, hosts exclusive breakaway sessions tailored to its customers and summit attendees. These sessions will delve deeper into Artificial Intelligence and how to embrace it. There will also be a focus on mobile application (app) development.
We are excited to engage with other industry experts, competitors, and clients alike to bring the ICT industry to the next level, inspiring optimism and progress.
We are eagerly awaiting the summit and hope you will come and say hello at our booth. We look forward to engaging with you and other industry professionals to make this Summit a memorable and impactful event.
