All about the experience and memories
"Money was never the thing, it was never part of it. For me it's always been about the passion and the impact we can have. It's about the experience and the memories that people have," says Ndilimeke Ndambinga, an event coordinator for the Namibia Creative Summit.Ndilimeke was also closely involved with Mindscape Events in some of the country's biggest music festivals such as Rock 'n Roll Namibia and the Nigerian musician Burna Boy's visit to Namibia for his Love, Damini tour.
"The desire we have for Mindscape Events is for it to be bigger than us," says Ndilimeke.
She says she already started organising events in 2012. "I organised marriage seminars and seminars for singles for the institution I worked for at the time. When they unfortunately had to close their doors, I moved on to events like the Heal Our Land concert," says Ndilimeke, emphasising that it is her passion that drives her.
It was also a privilege for her to expand gospel music's platform in Namibia with the Namibia Gospel Music Awards. "If you look at Christian music, there is such a small part that looks at gospel music. It is part of me - I believe in God and God is part of me," she says.
According to her, the "big" personalities she sometimes has to deal with in her industry cannot extinguish her passion. "You get rude people and you get nice people. There are always going to be those who think everything has to revolve around them."
Ndilimeke says her work has taught her to get along with different types of people. "I realised that we all have unique personalities and to understand that we are all different. It changed how I understand different personalities and people who come my way," she says. - [email protected]
