Sharwimbo’s Gift

The heart and soul of Sharwimbo River Camp
Over the past 10 years, Gift Lubelo has risen through the ranks from working in the kitchen to becoming a versatile and all-round hospitality professional.
Ellanie Smit
Meet Gift Lubelo, a dedicated general worker at Sharwimbo River Camp.
His name truly reflects the invaluable contribution he has made to this tranquil haven nestled between Kongola and Susiwe, just a few kilometres from the pristine beauty of the Kwando River that divides Namibia and Botswana.
Gift's journey at Sharwimbo began as a dishwasher, but over the past decade, he has evolved into much more than that.
When we arrived at Sharwimbo, Gift was there to greet us with a warm smile.
He not only assisted us with our booking but also showed us to our comfortable accommodation. And it didn't stop there. During our stay, Gift's talents became evident as we savoured a delicious plate of food he had prepared. As we dined, we couldn't help but notice the beautifully crafted floor beneath us – a testament to Gift's craftsmanship.
Gift's dedication to Sharwimbo is not just a story of personal growth but also one of conservation.
By being part of the team that provides exceptional hospitality to visitors, he contributes to the sustainability of this beautiful camp because Sharwimbo supports responsible travel with a low carbon footprint.
