Wilderness Safaris’ flagship camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Mombo, was announced as the top choice by travellers in the 2024 US Condé Nast Reader’s Choice Awards, Best Resort in Africa, in the Rest of Africa category.
The annual awards honour the most esteemed travel experiences, as chosen by Condé Nast Traveler's discerning readers.
It noted that, for the first time in five years, separate surveys were conducted for US and UK audiences. With 575 048 US readers participating, this extensive input highlights the award’s prestige.
Wilderness Group head of marketing Kate MacWilliam said the award is a testament to the collective passion and exceptional service of their team.
“Their unwavering and generous spirit is at the core of Wilderness and we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for us and our mission to make a profound impact on wildlife, the wilderness and local communities.”
Wilderness said that Mombo Camp offers an unparalleled luxury safari experience in Botswana.
“Positioned in a prime location where the Okavango River splits into its primary channels, Mbombo is celebrated for its exceptional year-round game viewing and thrilling predator-prey interactions.”
With over 45 000 hectares of exclusive private wilderness to explore, each day at Mombo surprises and delights, the company said.
