A ray of hope
Windhoek Life Change Centre
Since its establishment on 15 November 2001, Windhoek Life Change Centre (WLCC) has worked tirelessly to bring hope and support to communities in the Windhoek area. For over two decades, this charity has played a critical role in caring for vulnerable people and has become a symbol of hope for thousands of people who struggle with daily challenges.WLCC is dedicated to improving the quality of life and creating a self-reliant community.
The centre's mission is not only to alleviate immediate needs but also to make a long-term impact by creating sustainable solutions. WLCC strives to serve people in need with precious resources while fostering a community of care and cooperation.
The centre reaches out to people in the Windhoek area, assisting in various needs. This includes providing food to five schools and 17 pre-primary schools, where hundreds of children receive nutritious meals, as well as several soup kitchens, helping to alleviate hunger among vulnerable families.
The WLCC also supports the elderly by providing food and necessities.
Through these efforts, WLCC reaches between 5 000 and 8 000 people each month, highlighting the scope and impact of their work.
A month of hope and inspiration
November was particularly special for WLCC, with efforts by individuals to create awareness and raise funds, one of which was Stephan Schoeman, a dedicated supporter, who cycled an incredible 1 679 km this month to raise funds and awareness for WLCC's work.
Organiser Dirk Crous continued the inspiration by undertaking a 23 km route on 30 November as a tribute to WLCC’s extraordinary contributions over the past 23 years.
WLCC thanks everyone who shared their time, resources and funds, with special thanks to partners such as Namib Mills, Namib Poultry, Hand of Hope, Lady Pohamba Private Hospital and NG Kerk Windhoek-West, whose contributions are invaluable to the centre’s projects.
WLCC also invites anyone who would like to help further, to get in touch and thus become part of this life-changing mission. Every contribution, large or small, helps to bring hope and care to Namibia’s communities.
