Cash injection for Imago Dei

Help for the most vulnerable
The Capricorn Foundation renewed its collaboration with Imago Dei, allocating N$75 000 to support vulnerability programmes.
Imago Dei, a welfare organisation, coordinates initiatives for the Capricorn Foundation, mobilising resources for community projects. This investment will support 12 projects, impacting 3 440 children, 85 women, 662 elderly, and 1 850 individuals by addressing basic needs, education, job creation, and psychosocial intervention.
The funded projects include:
Hope for Life Foundation: A Christian non-profit offering counselling for unplanned pregnancies and economic upliftment for women through Business Starter Packs and mentoring based in Windhoek.
Burgershoek Children Community Project (Rehoboth): Supports 140 vulnerable children with holistic care, including psychosocial, physical, emotional, spiritual, mental health, educational, and social needs.
Family of Hope Services: Provides remedial school and afterschool programs, food, nutrition services, and psychosocial support to children, youth, and families.
A.K. Katangolo Pre-Primary and Day Care (Havana, Windhoek): Accommodates 55 children aged six months to six years, offering foundational education and a feeding scheme.
Grace Welfare Project: Supports marginalised communities with food parcels, church services, meals, clothing, and blankets for pensioners.
Lighthouse Ministry (Rehoboth): Supports vulnerable children and teenagers with afterschool classes, meals, and skills training.
Namibia Christian Women Aid Society: Established in 1976, provides monthly food parcels to 450 pensioners, relying on donations.
Response Action-Based Organisation: Addresses domestic violence, neglect and abuse by providing mediation, rescue, transport to hospitals, and violence prevention campaigns.
The Capricorn Foundation pledged N$2.6 million to vulnerability initiatives from July 2023 to June 2024, aiming to address poverty and malnutrition in Namibia.
“Our support for vulnerability initiatives focuses on addressing the basic needs of vulnerable groups and providing counselling for victims of gender-based violence,” said Marlize Horn, Executive Officer of the Capricorn Foundation.
The foundation's partnership with Imago Dei is crucial in reaching those in dire need.
