Riaan joins Have A Heart

Well-known Namibian singer Riaan Smit as joined the Have A Heart organisation as their local ambassador.
Established in 2013, Have A Heart has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of dogs, cats and their owners, providing free sterilisation, vaccination, and parasite treatment to pets from low- and no-income homes. The organisation believes and has witnessed that sterilisation is the only way to fight the overpopulation of cats and dogs in Namibia.
Furthermore, their efforts prevent suffering and lightens the load on countless communities.
Over the past 11 years, Have A Heart has made a significant impact, touching the lives of 21 800 cats and dogs, as well as their owners. None of these pet owners will have to worry about the financial burden that comes with unwanted litters ever again.
The cats and dogs that have been sterilised will also live longer, and healthier lives.
Cats and dogs that have been sterilised are less prone to wandering. It decreases aggression towards humans and other animals, and it even prevents an array of cancers.
“We’re incredibly excited and honoured to welcome the legendary Riaan Smit to our team, as our local ambassador,” says Anne Mans of Have A Heart. “Not only is Riaan an exceptionally gifted musician with a charismatic voice, but he also has a big heart for animals.”
At home, Riaan is a dad to two cats and two dogs.
“When we approached him, in the hopes of partnering with us, he jumped on board with a smile. Have A Heart Namibia has never been short of clients, but with Riaan by our side, we hope to raise even more awareness locally, as we always have room for another partner or two, to help us reach new heights.”
Being a non-profit organisation, Have A Heart is in constant need of volunteers and donations, and thus they look forward to sharing Riaan’s stage, and creating even more awareness around their “pawsome” cause.
