LRON lends a helping hand

The Land Rover Owners Namibia (LRON) last week received wheelchairs and walking frames from Germany that will be distributed to persons in need in Namibia.
This came after one of LRON’s members, Sven Pauly, approached the group in 2020 with the idea of bringing perfectly refurbished wheelchairs and walking frames from Germany to Namibia, which were donated by Jörg und Birgit Huschet of Huschet Reha Services in Germany.
Shipping costs where covered by the Sasserath family of Syr Sasserath, also in Germany.
LRON decided to team up with the Windhoek Lions Club to ensure fair distribution, since this would be a mammoth task and the Lion's Club is already well versed in this field.
LRON chairperson JC Kruger and Lion’s Zone chairperson Frank Schatz received the 40 wheelchairs and twenty walking frames which will be distributed to those in need and who cannot afford the purchase of such equipment.
LRON is an association for Land Rover owners but is also open to owners of other 4X4 makes. Their objectives are nature, environmental and humanitarian projects as well as a host of other activities.
