Katutura and Okahandja residents peacefully demonstrated in the capital yesterday, demanding the removal of RedForce and the clearance of water/electricity bills.
Mayor Joseph Uapingene of the City of Windhoek received their petition, apologised for council’s absence, and assured a prompt response.
The demonstration united the communities, expressing dissatisfaction with RedForce's debt collection practices. The residents emphasised the need to alleviate the financial burden on pensioners and those affected by Covid-19.
Mayor Uapingene pledged to engage with the aggrieved residents before the response deadline of 7 July.
