Support for Side by Side

DTS Sports Club in Windhoek recently donated N$10 000 to the Side by Side Early Intervention Centre in Katutura.
The funds were raised during the annual Windhoek Draught DTS Volleyball for All Tournament, organised by the club.
The club actively supports social responsibility projects in Windhoek every year.
The Volleyball for All Tournament is aimed at promoting sportsmanship and community bonding, attracting participants and spectators from diverse age groups and backgrounds. This year, the organisers decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to charitable causes.
The Side by Side Early Intervention Centre was chosen as the recipient due to its outstanding reputation within the community. The centre is dedicated to supporting children and youth with disabilities by providing educational, sports, and recreational programmes, thereby offering them better chances for a positive future.
During the donation handover, Teja Lueck, an executive committee member of DTS, along with representatives from both the indoor and beach volleyball subsections, presented the cheque to Huipie van Wyk of Side by Side.
Lueck emphasised the importance of social engagement and solidarity in society, saying, "As a sports club, it is important for us to go beyond the realm of sports competition and contribute towards improving the living conditions of those in need. Side by Side is doing invaluable work in Katutura, and we are delighted to be able to support them with this donation."
Van Wyk expressed her gratitude upon receiving the donation, saying that the significance of such financial support enables them to continue their programmes, which has a positive impact on the children and youth they serve.
