Bank Windhoek NVF Cup championship
The semi-finalists will be striving to lift the Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup at the conclusion of Saturday's finals.
Fans nationwide are excited for an action-packed weekend as the Bank Windhoek Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) Cup finals come to the Windhoek Show Grounds.Saturday will see defending women’s champions, Revivals Volleyball Club (RVC) and men’s title holders Khomas Nampol Volleyball Club (KNVC), fight tooth and nail for a déjà vu of glory, wishing to make another entry into the history books on a thrilling journey to the finals.
The NVF president, Hillary Dux Imbuwa, said the Revivals ladies will kick off the semi-finals at 09:00 going up against Khomas Nampol. They will be followed by Kudos Sports Club taking on Navy Volleyball Club at 11:00.
Simultaneously in the thrilling men’s showdown, Khomas Nampol will be battling against Afrocat Sports Club from 09:00. Namibia Correctional Services Volleyball Club (NCS) will thereafter cross swords with Namibia Defence Force Volleyball Club’s A side at 11:00.
“These matches will determine who advances to the grand finale, where they will vie for the coveted Bank Windhoek NVF Cup championship.”
The two bronze finals will follow at 13:00, before the women’s final at 15:00 and the men’s final at 17:00.
The NTV production team will broadcast the two men’s semi-finals live from 09:00, and continue until the men’s final in the evening.
Qualifiers
Imbuwa said a total of 12 teams in each gender battled for the top honours during the first round, with the semi-finalists now on the cusp of glory.
He added that this weekend should provide the highlight of their annual calendar, showcasing the nation’s top talent and providing a platform for fierce competition among the best teams in the country.
“After several thrilling matches during the first round in Otjiwarongo a month ago, anticipation is now at an all-time high as the time to crown the champions looms.”
The action at the Windhoek Showgrounds promises a sheer sporting spectacle, celebrating sportsmanship, unity, and the passion for volleyball that continues to unite communities nationwide.
