African Genesis Archery (AGA) Namibia’s annual ranking shoot at Elnatan Private School in Stampriet last weekend, saw archers contest their marksmanship for crucial ranking points.y
The tenth edition of the ranking shoot, and penultimate for the year, was hosted at Elanatan after a successful competition at Mariental’s Danie Joubert Combined School in August.
Organisers explained that it was very windy and sunny during the day of the competition, which made scoring 50 points in such tough conditions a challenge for the archers.
However, the archers were resilient and demonstrated their strength and skill as best as they could, making the event a great success.

In the Adult Archery Generation (AAG) women’s section, the overall combined title of 3D and Bull’s Eye was awarded to Anja von Watzdorf with 844, alongside AAG men’s winner Paul van der Merwe (833).
Elnatan's Carine Kruger, the competition organiser, highlighted the event, noting that the strong north-easterly wind at the start didn’t disrupt the archers too much.
“As the day went on, everyone adapted to the wind, and by the final Bulls-eye rounds, the shooters were consistently hitting scores in the 50s again,” she said.
She also extended her congratulations to the medal winners. “Thank you to everyone who participated. It was a wonderful day spent with the AGA family.”
