Brave Warriors coach Collin Benjamin has named his final squad for the Cosafa Cup, set for South Africa this month.
The tournament will take place from 5 to 17 July, with Namibia commencing its assignment against Madagascar in the quarter-final stages in the competition.
“The players who have been selected have earned their place and it is because they proved themselves during training.
“It is also not the end of the road for those who did not make it, because there is still always a next time.
“We will continue with our training sessions in South Africa in order to have the boys ready for the big one,” Benjamin said.
Getting goalkeepers in shape
Sessions in the goalkeeping department have refocused from conditioning to match-related training, as they prepare for the competition.
Brave Warriors goalkeeper coach Arnold Subeb said training goalies in departments needed in action is important.
“It’s mental and tactical training in a nutshell - crossing, positioning and maintaining focus under pressure, and they are responding well. We have daily assessments where we identify shaky areas, return to the drawing board and apply accordingly,” he said.
Namibia will take on Madagascar on 12 July in Durban.
