Competition was tough at the top of the overall leader board.
The annual December 4x4 Vasbyt delivered the full monty on Saturday, where 18 competitors in three different classes had to conquer ten obstacle courses at the old oval track on the eastern outskirts of Walvis Bay.The well-attended, action-packed event served to test the 18 experienced teams to their limits.
The South African pair of Izak Maritz and Johan Maritz was the only team that could bag the maximum of 600 points, by winning ten out of ten challenges in the E Class.
However, Rico Bothma and co-driver Jossie Maritz clinched the over-all title with 550 points and securing first place in the C Class. Morné Oosthuysen and Christiaan Labuschagne on 490 points ended second overall, as well as in the C Class.
Third place overall went to Dolf Bothma and Jossie Maritz as winners of the D Class with 470 points, while Floris Steenkamp senior and Floris Steenkamp junior took third place in the C Class with 460 points.

D class: 1 Dolf Bothma / Jossie Maritz, 2 Francois du Plessis / Lorraine du Plessis (440), 3 Herman Theron / Nico Theron (420).
E class: 1 Izak Maritz / Johan Maritz (600), 2 Michel Hudson / Dupie Kern (500), 3 Corrie Hudson / Robbie Hudson (380).
