Duchaine dominates with three gold medals

The Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club delivered an impressive performance at the Gold Reef competition in Johannesburg over the weekend.

The team, consisting of seven gymnasts, traveled to South Africa on Friday morning.

Eight-year-old Zara Duchaine was a standout performer, securing three gold medals.

Karli Conradie, also eight, earned one gold and one silver medal, placing second overall.

Twelve-year-old Meggi Shiwedha finished as runner-up, earning four silver medals for her exceptional routines.

Gabriela Mouton had a successful outing, claiming one gold and three silver medals, finishing second overall.

Other club members who competed include Nina-Mari Nel (10), Jayd Pretorious (11), and Kayla Duchaine (13), all of whom placed fifth in their respective categories.

Their performances contributed to the team's overall success, showcasing the depth of talent within the club.

Eleonara Karamfilova, co-owner and head coach of the Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, expressed her pride in the gymnasts' efforts.

"I am extremely proud of my girls; they showed massive attitude throughout the competition, and this just goes to show the potential they have," she stated.

Karamfilova also acknowledged the dedication of the parents who have made significant sacrifices to support their children's participation in the sport.

The team returned to Windhoek on Sunday morning, reflecting on a successful competition and looking forward to future events.
