Golf ladies ready for Morocco

The selected team to compete in the All Africa Challenge Trophy has been announced.
The Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union is sending a string team of four ladies to represent the country at the prestigious All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), scheduled from 28 to 30 November 2024. The tournament will be hosted at the renowned Tazegzout Golf Club in Agadir, Morocco, where the Namibian golfers will compete against 19 other African nations.
Namibia’s selected representatives are Doulaine Holtzhausen, Ruanda de Beer and Mary-Ann Boltman, with Dina Holtzhausenas their team manager. All three of the players are registered members of Omeya Golf Club.
In a bid to raise funds for the team's journey, the Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union recently organised a fundraising event at Omeya Golf Estate. The event was a huge success, generating approximately N$24 000 from entries and an additional N$30 000 from auctions and donations.
A notable contribution came from ENJOY, who generously sponsored a two-night bed and breakfast stay for two at Kifaru Lodge.
Team manager Dina Holtzhausen expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support. "From my side, this day would not have been possible without the support of everyone concerned. They are the main contributors sending our Namibian team to participate against 19 other African countries."
In the fundraising competition, the WAP team emerged victorious with an imporessive score of 111 points. The winning team consisted of Alida Hill, Doulaine Holtzhausen, Willie Junius and Jaco Schoombee.
The All Africa Challenge Trophy, organised by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Golf (RMGF) and the Hassan II Trophy Association (ATH), is a biennial tournament that brings together Africa's best female golfers.
Participating teams are expected to arrive by 25 November to allow for practice rounds on the 26th, with the tournament officially starting on the 28th.
All participants will receive complimentary accommodation for six nights at the luxurious Tazegzout Golf Resort.
This is a remarkable opportunity for Namibia’s team to showcase their skills on an international stage, and with the support they’ve garnered, they are poised to make a strong showing in Morocco.
