Life after sport explored
NNOC presents workshop
In order to help Namibian athletes transition into their post-sport careers and find their way after a life in sport, the Namibian National Olympic Committee’s athletes commission would like to share an amazing event. In partnership with the Athlete365 team, the Namibia Athletes Commission and NNOC will be hosting a two-day workshop at the Arebbusch Travel Lodge in Windhoek on Saturday and Sunday.
The Athlete Career+ Workshop will emphasize life skills, education and employment, and cover topics like self-knowledge, finding a purpose, planning and how to build a CV or résumé.
Participants will also have the chance to network with and learn from other Olympians, Paralympians and athletes.
Kady Kanoute Tounkara, a former professional player, 2008 Olympian and co-captain of Mali’s basketball team, will lead the sessions, which will bring together 30 young athletes from across the country.
An engaging panel discussion including former professional athletes (such as retired Namibian women’s hockey captain at the Indoor World Cup, Maggy Mengo) who have successfully transitioned into employment will also be a part of the workshop agenda.
