The Namibia national swimming team overpowered their opposition with their first participation at the CANA Zone 4 Swimming Championships in Luanda, Angola, and were crowned the overall champions.
The Namibian men's and women's swimmers collected the most points during the swimming competition.
Roselinda Matyayi and Lorenzo Esterhuizen scooped the victrix ludorum trophy for girls (12 years and younger) and the victor ludorum trophy for boys (13 to 14 years), respectively.
Oliver Durand was named the victor ludorum in the 15- to 16-year-old age group.
Overall, the team was absolutely phenomenal and showed no mercy to their competitors. The swimmers brought home a tally of 117 medals, including 45 gold medals, 36 silver medals, and 36 bronze medals.
In a statement, the Namibia Swimming Federation said: "It's a first for Namibia to win these championships, and we are proud of this achievement. Well done to all swimmers for playing a role in making this event such a success!"
