Khomas Nampol FC coach Fortune Eichab has revealed that his squad is highly motivated ahead of their clash with Ongos FC in the Debmarine Namibia Premiership. The two sides are set to meet on Saturday as the league resumes following the long weekend. The police team resumed training on Monday and are eager to return to action in what promises to be a top-of-the-table showdown.
“I must say the boys are already motivated because we’re playing the team at the top of the table,” said Eichab.
“I also want to highlight that our preparations have gone well, and we’ll continue training until the weekend.
“This is an important match for us, and we need to be ready for it.”
Khomas Nampol FC currently sit in third place, just one point behind log leaders Ongos FC. Ongos top the table with 30 points, followed by African Stars who are also on 30 points, with Khomas Nampol closely trailing in third.
All three top teams have played 17 matches as the season nears its climax. Eichab’s side have won eight of those matches, drawn five, and suffered four defeats. Ongos FC, meanwhile, have also registered eight wins but have drawn six and lost five.
Chasing maximum points
Coach Eichab is eyeing maximum points not only against Ongos but also in their next encounter with Tigers FC.
“It’s not just about the three points against Ongos — we’re aiming for at least six points to maintain our position near the top of the table,” he said.
“I just want the team to remain consistent and ensure we stay in contention for the title.”
