Non-golfers introduced in NALGU mixed pairs

Golf
The Windhoek Golf Club hosted the Namibia Amateur Ladies Golf Union (NALGU)’s third sponsored mixed pairs American scramble and betterball competition of the year last weekend.
NALGU, in collaboration with the Royal & Ancient, are on a mission to get more ladies to take up golf as a sport. Golfers were encouraged to get non-golfing ladies to join them in a fun-filled day on the course. In addition, golfing mixed pairs were also encouraged to participate.
And finally, all golfers that could not find an opposite sex partner were accommodated in a separate division. This was sponsored by the players.
Twenty-four pairs participated. Four golfer/non-golfer mixed pairs, ten golfing mixed pairs and nine men’s golfing and one men’s golfer/non-golfer pairs made up the numbers.

Making good use of their handicaps, the team of Richard Majangara, Vennon Gapara and Nathaniel Mudzingwa came in with 121 points and clinched the first prize.
Oom Pikkie Champion, Bossie Bosman and Danie van Antwerpen on 118 followed in second, with Tienie and Wilma de Wet and Hannes Crafford taking third place on 117 points. The fourth prize went to Wouter van Wijk, Wayne Hart and Boel Grobbelaar on 108 with Emery and Emilio Maboh and Wensley Gaseb in the fifth spot on 107 points.
