NSC empowers sports leaders at inaugural workshop

The Namibia Sports Commission (NSC) hosted its inaugural workshop for federation presidents and secretary generals at the Roof of Africa Hotel in Windhoek last Saturday.The event attracted over 90 participants from various affiliated federations, underscoring a shared commitment to advancing governance and development across the Namibian sports landscape.
The workshop focused on critical areas such as governance in the sports industry, operational structures, and compliance to the Namibia Sport Act 12 of 2003.
Other sessions covered communication, branding, and sponsorships; sports development; internal and external relations.
These topics were meticulously chosen to provide leaders with the insights and tools required to foster growth and positive change within their federations.
This event is the first in a planned bi-annual series designed to promote good governance, compliance and development within the sector.
By hosting these workshops twice a year, the Namibia Sports Commission aims to set clear expectations and benchmarks, ensuring a unified approach to improving Namibian sports.
Simataa Mwiya, the NSC chief administrator, praised the success of the workshop, stating: “We aim to foster a collaborative environment where leaders can learn, collaborate and tackle challenges together. Our ongoing efforts reflect our commitment to advancing Namibian sports.”
