Referee achieves FIVB recognition

In a landmark moment for Namibian volleyball, Fillemon Amupadhi, a distinguished national referee, made history by attending the Federation of International Volleyball’s international referee's candidate course. Held from 7 to 115 July in Sale, Morocco, the prestigious event was organized by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB).
Amupadhi’s selection as the sole representative from Namibia among 25 referees from 21 African nations is a significant achievement, underscoring a new chapter for volleyball in the country. His participation at this level not only reflects his personal dedication, but also highlights Namibia’s growing prominence in the global volleyball arena.
Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) president, Hillary Dux Imbuwa, expressed heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to Amupadhi.
“His remarkable achievement of qualifying as an FIVB international candidate not only reflects his dedication and hard work but also marks a pivotal milestone for NVF as part of our strategic goal for capacity building,” said Imbuwa.
The qualification of Amupadhi is more than a personal victory; it represents a significant step forward for the NVF’s strategic objective of enhancing the sport’s quality and competitiveness in Namibia.
