Namibia’s Ananias Shikongo this morning won his 100 metre T11 qualifying heat in 11.39 seconds at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games in France.
Ananias and his guide runner Even Tjiuiju had an excellent race and hopefully it will continue tonight from 20:58 in the semi-finals.
Unfortunately Chris Kinda and guide Riwaldo Goagoseb ended third in their heat with 11.57 seconds and will not progress to the semi-finals.

Chris and Riwaldo nearly got disqualified in their 100 metre T11 heat when the guide runner twitched in the starting blocks and activated the timing alarm. However, none of the two Namibians left their starting blocks and only received a yellow card warning from the officials.
Johannes Nambala will also start this morning at 10:18 in the 400 metre T13 final.
The women’s 200 metre T11 qualifying heats will start this morning from 10:27 with Lahja Ishitile in contention. The men’s 100 metre T11 final follows at 19:08.
Petrus Karuli was unlucky to get disqualified in his 400 metre T37 final for line infringement during the race. However, Petrus geta a last chance to show his mettle on Friday from 20:04 in the 200 metre T37 qualifying heats.
