Goals galore at netball schools league
After a highly competitive season, the 2024 Capricorn Schools Netball League successfully concluded this past weekend in Windhoek with the semi-finals and finals of this national league.Eighty-five teams representing 25 public and private schools from various regions took part in this year’s League.
In a thrilling final encounter, Windhoek High School were crowned champions after narrowly beating Windhoek Gymnasium 27-26 in the u/19, while A. Shipena Secondary School secured bronze.
Windhoek Gymnasium dominated play in the u/17 final, winning a convincing 39-18 over Centaurus Secondary School, while Rehoboth-based M&K Gertze High School finished third.
Capricorn Group has sponsored the league, which is endorsed by the Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU), for the past 11 years. The league includes teams from u/12 to u/19.

Results
In other results, Windhoek Gymnasium claimed the u/15 title after overcoming Windhoek High School 30-26 in the final, while Windhoek Afrikaans Privaatskool were crowned u/14 title winners after outclassing Windhoek Gymnasium 15-9.
In the u/13 final, Windhoek Afrikaans Privaatskool defeated Tsumeb Gymnasium 22-16, while Windhoek Gymnasium were the victors in the u/12 final, winning 22-18 against Windhoek Afrikaans Privaatskool.
The competition showcased the best of netball talent and good sportsmanship, much to the delight of the organisers.
