Jump start for Athletics Namibia
The Namdia Foundation announced its sponsorship of N$400 000 to Athletics Namibia (AN) for the Namibian team’s participation at the upcoming 2022 African Championships, taking place in Cote D’Or, Mauritius from 8 to 12 June 2022.This is Namdia’s second commitment to AN following last year’s sponsorship that assisted the Namibian team participate in the 2021 World Youth Championship where they secured top medals.
Besides Namdia’s sponsorships of AN in 2021, through their Sport Pillar they also supported the Namibian Olympic Team for their participation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and the Namibia Rugby Women’s National Team for their first historic match against Zambia.
This year, the foundation kick started their Sport Pillar with the sponsorship of middle distance athlete David Dam for his participation at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix Continental Tour were he secured third place and achieved his personal best time.
The team will be accompanied by coach Henk Botha and coach Letu Hamhola and consists of the following athletes: Gilbert Hainuca (100, 200, relays), David Dam (800, Relays), Ivan Geldenhuys (400, 200, relays), Warren Goreseb (relays), Gideon Narib (100, 200, relays), Andre Retief (400, 400H, relays), Roger Haitengi (triple jump), Ryan Williams (discus), Mahmad Bock (400, relays), Ndawana Haitembu (relays), Tuane Silver (shotput), Mudi-Inosensia Haingura (400, relays), Ane Rautenbach (200, 400, relays), Nandi Vass (400, relays) and Sade de Sousa (100, relays).
