Junior golf series expands to nine events
Aiming for record participation
The Momentum Junior Golf Series 2025 officially began this week at Windhoek Golf Club, marking the launch of the third annual season of Namibia's premier junior golf competition.Following record participation in 2023 and a successful expansion in 2024, the 2025 edition is set to be the largest yet, featuring more events, an increased number of young players, and continued strong support from title sponsor Momentum Namibia.
In 2023, the inaugural series attracted over 60 junior golfers from ten schools. The momentum carried into 2024 with eight events held throughout the year, allowing even more young players to compete and develop their skills.
For 2025, the series will expand to nine events running from March through October, with organisers targeting around 80 junior golfers this season, reflecting the growing interest in the sport among Namibia's youth.
“We're excited to kick off the 2025 season and see so many enthusiastic young golfers come out to play,” said Damian da Silva, Founder of DSA and tournament director. “Our goal has always been to grow the game at the grassroots level. With Momentum’s support and the increased interest from the community, this year's series is poised for new heights of success and excitement.”
Breading success
Momentum is proud to continue as the title sponsor of this initiative. “Success starts early, whether in sports, life, or your financial journey. At Momentum, we believe that investing in young people's potential lays the groundwork for future success. By supporting the Junior Golf Series, we are helping young Namibians gain an advantage on their path to success,” said Denille Roostee, Marketing Executive at Momentum Namibia.
