NCAA hosts safety workshop

As part of Namibia’s aviation safety initiatives and in compliance with the targets set out in the National Aviation Safety Plan 2023-2025, the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) hosts the third Aviation Safety Workshop on 29 April under the theme “Share Knowledge - Improve Safety”.
The topics that presented are Safety Management System Implementation, Handling of Emergencies, Flight Data Analysis, Audits for Improved Safety, Non-Type Certified Aircraft Approvals, 5G Implementation Update, Safeguarding Aerodromes Amidst Sustainable Development, and Competency Based Training in Dangerous Goods.
All issues to be discussed either emanate from reported incidents, new developments in the aviation industry, or issues that the NCAA needs to educate the industry on.
The presenters are NCAA safety specialists and inspectors as well as industry professionals.
The first safety workshop was held in Windhoek at the NCAA headquarters in May last year and included 25 in-person participants as well as 40 online participants. The second safety workshop followed in September 2022, with 50 participants attending in-person along with 15 online, in Swakopmund.
NCAA plans these workshops to be an annual event. The events are free and open to all those involved or who wish to be involved in aviation. Those wishing to attend can send an email to [email protected]
