The Namibia Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) launched the first Aviation Safety Competition for participation by school-going children across the country.
Amongst others, this is a bid to build an aviation culture amongst the Namibia Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NxGAP).
In light of this, the NCAA invites all schools to take part in the competition which is aimed at fostering a greater involvement of the Namibian youth in the aviation sector. Through the initiative, the NCAA would like to give the NxGAP the chance to spark innovative ideas and concepts for fresh solutions in services supporting the NCAA's aim of maintaining aviation safety, which is essential to any aviation career.
“The possibilities are endless,” says senior manager: safety promotion and quality at the NCAA Godfried Matroos, adding that children are encouraged to use any mediums they would like to share how they feel aircraft safety fits into their lives.
He said that cash is to be won, along with bragging rights with the winning poster or artwork that will be used in their safety bulletin and for display purposes in important areas.
All entries must be submitted to [email protected] before 31 August, with the title “Social Media Competition” along with your first name and surname.
In the meantime, the NCAA safety standards team is ready to share further information and guidance with participants on the subject. Contact Danielle Bruckert ([email protected] or 083 235 2468) or Simon Valombola ([email protected] or 083 235 2301) for more information.
