Local airline FlyNamibia has been named one of the top ten airlines in Africa by Business Insider. This follows a study that S Money, an online exchange rate calculation service, recently issued.
This study was conducted using artificial intelligence (AI) and analyzed tweets on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) directed at airlines worldwide. According to this, customer satisfaction with the respective airlines was determined.
"We are delighted to be recognised as a top airline after such a short time in the industry. The nomination serves as proof of our commitment to providing safe, efficient and punctual air travel on all the routes we offer," said FlyNamibia's executive director, André Compion.
Compion took the opportunity to express his praise for FlyNamibia's staff. "Success in the aviation industry begins and ends with the people involved in the business. FlyNamibia is proud of the training and employment provided to the cream of the Namibian aviation workforce in this industry. From our pilots, cabin crew, ground crew and maintenance staff to our senior management, we can confidently say we have the most dedicated and professional team in place,” he said.
Compion believes this recognition will encourage FlyNamibia's staff to continue their commitment.
"To be measured against the best in the African airline industry and to be recognised as one of the top ten serves as great motivation for all our employees and confirms our reputation as a leading airline to the public."
Compion adds that FlyNamibia will soon offer flights between Cape Town and Walvis Bay in an effort to maintain the lead in service delivery. Flights between the Victoria Falls and the Angolan capital Luanda are also planned for 2024. - [email protected]
