New Namibian documentary debuts on kykNET
Documentary films and series are becoming increasingly popular locally and globally because viewers have an ever-growing interest in the story behind the story. This October, a brand new Namibian documentary is showing on kykNET (DStv channel 144 and GOtv channel 15).The documentary, Eden's Guardian Angels, looks at the extraordinary trajectory from wildlife crisis to conservation victory.
On a continent struggling with the effects of poaching and the conflict between the needs of people and nature, Namibia stands out as a beacon of hope. It is also an inspiring example of the invaluable contribution that community-led conservation can make. This compelling film takes a closer look at Namibia's pioneering conservation efforts and introduces the viewer to dedicated guardians of three conservation areas across this vast and pristine country. Through their eyes, we see the urgent plight of the world's most traded mammal, the pangolin and the last remaining, free-ranging black rhinos, whose numbers are still shrinking.

Eden's Guardian Angels not only celebrates the revival of certain wildlife species but also tells a heartwarming story of local communities who take their role as stewards of the land seriously.
Viewers experience their tireless efforts to protect endangered species and preserve the natural heritage for future generations. “When I embarked on the journey to create this documentary, I was driven by a deep sense of wonder and admiration for the extraordinary conservation efforts unfolding in Namibia," said Jana von Hase, director of Eden's Guardian Angels.
The documentary pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of local communities who have come together to rewrite the narrative of conservation in Africa, she explained.
"The film shows the achievements of local rangers, community members and conservationists, who work tirelessly to make this possible. Through their stories and the breathtaking cinematography, we see how Namibia has become a haven where wildlife not only survives, but thrives - defying the gloomy trends observed in other regions of Africa."
