JUST IN: City announces controlled burning

The City of Windhoek has issued a notice to residents that controlled burning will take place on land in the area of the Windhoek Showgrounds.
These fires will serve as a precaution ahead of the fireworks set to be launched during the Windhoek Show, and will be done under the supervision of the fire brigade.
The public has been warned of smoke that may affect motorists, and residents are advised to be cautious in this area or to use alternative routes.
