Augustineum's top ten honoured at prestigious ceremony
Augustineum Secondary School learners were finally able to celebrate their success as the top ten performers of the last term were announced.On 1 March, the top achievers were awarded special certificates in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.
The recipients represented grades eight, nine and 10, meeting criteria ranging from obtaining sixty percent and above for grades eight and nine to fifty percent and above for grade 10.
"It is a great honour to receive one of these badges," explained Ms Moller, the head of department of commerce.
"The badges are a symbol of hard work and dedication and serve to motivate and inspire other students to strive for excellence."
The initiative to award top-ten badges was introduced in 2018 by the school's principal, Mr Rudolf Matengu, with the goal of encouraging academic excellence among the students.
Since then, the programme has been a resounding success, with students actively competing to earn the prestigious badges.
Dedicated achievers
Among the top achievers in each grade were Nuuta Rauna and Richter Steven in grade eight, Kalukei Itamudulunge and Iipinge Johanna in grade nine and Eiases Stephany and Ekandjo Elina in grade 10.
"Opening my report card and seeing that I had passed was a moment that changed my life. From there, I knew the great potential I hold and that of others when they focus on their studies and strive towards a greater future. I'm grateful to my teachers and my fellow learners for encouraging me to study hard and be one of the top 10 achievers," said Stephany Eiases, the top achiever of last year's grade 10's.
"It is important for these students to maintain their hard work and dedication to their studies," Matengu said.
"We are proud of their achievements and look forward to even more success in the future." Overall, the prizegiving ceremony was a testament to the commitment and determination of the learners at Augustineum Secondary School, showcasing their academic prowess and setting a high standard for excellence. With the top ten achievers leading the way, the school is poised to continue fostering a culture of academic success and achievement.
