Honouring NMH employees with decades of experience
Long service
Esegiel KakeroAfter 35 years of dedicated service at Network Media Hub (NMH) – formerly Namibia Media Holdings – Esegiel Kakero reflected on the benefits of his long tenure, noting the stability, growth and experience it has brought him.
“Staying at one company for so many years gives you comfort in knowing the environment well,” he said, adding that it’s rewarding to be recognised and respected by colleagues and leaders alike.
For Kakero, commitment is key, and he offers simple advice to the youth: “Be committed and make the work meaningful.” His journey stands as a testament to the value of loyalty and dedication in building a fulfilling career.
Monica Josob
"After 20 years, it’s hard to summarise all your experiences on one sheet," Monica Josob says about her two-decade career at NMH.
Josob stressed quality over quantity when it comes to career accomplishments and advises young people to focus on learning and making positive contributions to society and the environment.
"Goals can provide the inspiration you need in tough times," she said.
"I started as a cleaner in 1999, earning N$450, which I had to split with my sister. After deductions, my income was only N$250."
Her persistence eventually led to a permanent position in 2004.
Josob’s advice to young people is clear: "Educate yourself, be independent, stay happy, and remember to pray."
Marthinus van Wyk
On reaching a 20-year milestone in his career, Marthinus van Wyk said: “It feels good to have worked these two decades.” Reflecting on the industry's growth over the years, he added a simple message for the younger generation: “If you love what you are doing, keep up the good work.”
Other notable employees who have dedicated 20 years to the company include Esegiel Swartbooi and Americo Amupolo.
