Paulus looks to replicate academic excellence in corporate space
Accolades strengthen her determination to succeed
Rosalia Paulus' goal is to develop skills in negotiation, investment analysis and attention to detail, which are essential to succeeding in property management.
Rosalia Paulus, a final-year property studies student at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), has always been driven by her passion for real estate and property management. She attended Kuisebmond Secondary School and after matriculating, she relocated to Windhoek in 2020 to pursue her studies. During her time at NUST, Paulus received awards for being the best property studies student in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
“These awards motivate me to keep pushing forward and have strengthened my determination to succeed in the industry,” she said.
Paulus’ growing interest in property management and development fuelled her decision to apply for a bursary and internship at Oryx Properties, one of Namibia's leading property companies. "I always kept an eye on Oryx during my studies," she said. "Their dynamic approach to the property sector and their ambition in the market intrigued me, and I wanted to learn from the best."
Goals
She narrated that her goal is to develop her skills in negotiation, investment analysis and attention to detail, which are essential to succeeding in property management. "I am excited to immerse myself in the field, learn from seasoned professionals, and sharpen the skills I've acquired in the classroom," she said.
Paulus said she regards herself as someone who enjoys life's simple pleasures. She likes working out at home to stay energised and often watches 'Architectural Digest', a YouTube series that showcases properties from around the world, she said.
When asked how she handles the pressures of meeting tight deadlines, Paulus shared her thoughts on the importance of planning and prioritisation. "I break tasks down into manageable steps and tackle the most urgent ones first," she said. "Staying organised and seeking help when needed are key to ensuring that I stay on track."
Strength
Paulus’ drive is not only professional, but also rooted in her faith. Her favourite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, guides her through life's challenges: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
She said she confident that the experience at Oryx will bring her closer to her long-term goal of making a name for herself in Namibia’s property industry. “Working at Oryx will allow me to connect with industry leaders, gain practical experience, and build a foundation for a successful career in property management.”
